WebcastingWebcasting

Conference calls are good, but let’s get visual. Picture This offers full-service webcasting live or on-demand, from our studio or from your next event. We’ll bring your audio, video and slides to the internet offering visual access to a public audience or just your employees.

Factoid: Webcasting presents media files distributed over the Internet using streaming media technologies. Think of it as broadcasting video and audio over the Internet. Webcasting is used extensively in the commercial sector for investor relations presentations (such as annual and general meetings), in E-learning (to transmit seminars), and for related communications activities. PowerPoint and interactive chat or live phone patches to remote locations are also commonly used.

We’ve distributed streams in RealMedia, Windows Media and Flash Video to clients like ADP, Autodesk and Mentor Graphics. We have the skills and experience to make your presentation a success, we play well with others and keep Marketing and IT happy.

Webcasts are most commonly delivered in 2 ways:
• Live Streaming
is essentially a real time signal distributed from one point to many remote locations via the Internet. It is the more expensive delivery method.
• On Demand
stores the media files and delivers your “program” to viewers as needed. It is not a “live broadcast” but instead, a “repeat”. These files are stored for 30 days or yearly, depending upon your needs.

Our Webcasting Team works closely with our Live Events Staff, to support your next meeting with comprehensive technology support. We can provide you with complete services whether it’s a full set or stage, to a simple webcast. You’re covered.

Technical needs: Assuming an audio/video signal is available and ready to distribute, the four components of a webcast are Equipment, Compressionist, Connectivity and Hosting.

• Equipment
consists of encoding computers to convert, compress and optimize your audio and video stream for Internet distribution. Secondary laptops can be used to host and manage Chat sessions or Q&A from the field.
• Compressionist Engineers
oversee the conversion of your data and monitors its delivery to the host.
• Connectivity
to the Internet is required. Many hotels offer T1 Lines (optimum). Pricing varies by property. We gladly participate in these conversations with your venue sales manager. DSL connections are not recommended. 786 KB connection is recommended minimum for audio and video with monitoring. Audio-only signals require less bandwidth.
• Hosting services distribute your signal from one source to hundreds or thousands based on needs. Pricing varies with signal quality desired, live streaming or on demand needs and the number of views.

Whether your next event is a new product rollout, sales training or an industry conference, we can bring your content to the widest possible audience.  Call today for a consultation!
